Isolated thunderstorms and rains forecast for Bangkok, upper Thailand and South
A moderate high-pressure system from China covers the North, the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea. It forces the southerly and southeasterly winds to blowing in with humidity from the South China Sea to the lower Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East regions.
Meanwhile, the westerly trough covers the North, the Northeast and the upper Central regions, the Thailand Meteorological Department said on Sunday.
Outbreaks of summer storms are forecast for the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East regions. Thunderstorms, gusty winds, hail and lightning strikes, as well as isolated heavy rains are forecast for upper Thailand.
The department urged people to beware of the severe weather conditions.
In the Andaman Sea and the South of the country, the southerly and the southwesterly winds blow across, bringing scattered thundershowers to the South.

North: Scattered thunderstorms and isolated heavy rains, gusty winds and hail in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Tak, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit and Phetchabun provinces; minimum temperature 20-24 degrees Celsius; maximum 30-35°C; southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.
Northeast: Scattered thunderstorms and isolated heavy rains, gusty winds and hail in Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Mahasarakham, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani provinces; minimum temperature 22-25°C; maximum 31-35°C; southeasterly winds 10-25 km/hr.
Central: Scattered thunderstorms and isolated gusty winds and hail mostly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Ayutthaya, Singburi, Ang Thong, Lopburi, Saraburi, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi provinces; minimum temperature 24-25°C, maximum 31-36°C; southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.
East: Scattered thunderstorms and isolated gusty winds mostly in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaew, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat provinces; minimum temperature 25-27°C, maximum 32-36°C; southwesterly winds 10-30 km/hr; waves under a metre high and above a metre during thundershowers.
South (east coast): Scattered thundershowers mostly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla and Yala provinces; minimum temperature 24-25°C, maximum 33-36°C; southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr; waves about a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
