Thammasat School of Engineering Celebrates 30 Years of Fostering Global-Mindset Engineers
The Thammasat School of Engineering recently marked a major milestone, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its international engineering programmes at the “TEP-TEPE CONNECT 30th Anniversary” event.
Held on 3 October 2026 at Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok, the gathering successfully bridged the gap between academia and industry by uniting prospective students, alumni, faculty, and international academic partners.
Opened by Professor Dr. Sanya Mitaim, Dean of the Thammasat School of Engineering, and officially inaugurated by University Rector Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, the event was a testament to the institution's three decades of educational excellence.
A central highlight of the celebration was the strong endorsement from elite global partners - the University of Nottingham (UK), UNSW Sydney (Australia), and KU Leuven (Belgium). Their involvement underscored the critical role that cross-border collaboration plays in modern engineering education.
Moving beyond a traditional reunion, the event served as a high-level academic and business forum under the theme "Global-Mindset Engineers Against an Uncertain World."
The "TEP Talk" sessions featured prominent industry experts and thought leaders who addressed the evolving demands placed on today's engineering professionals.
Dr. Nopparuj Chindasombatcharoen, Research Fellow at the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), provided deep insights into the "New Industrial Policy for Thailand’s Economy,"
while Mr. Sirichai Jirapongphan of PTT Public Company Limited outlined critical frameworks for "Thailand’s Energy Strategic Planning and Sustainability."
Further emphasizing the need for educational agility, Professor Dr. Suejit Pechprasarn, Dean of the Graduate School at Rangsit University, and Mrs. Petchaporn Cherngwiwatkij, Edu-preneur and Mrs. Thailand World 2026, shared forward-looking strategies on preparing the next generation for an unpredictable future.
As the TEP-TEPE programmes prepare for the 2027 admissions cycle, this 30-year milestone reinforces Thammasat University's commitment to producing highly adaptable, globally-minded engineers.
By aligning academic rigor with real-world economic and industrial insights, the institution continues to build a resilient talent pipeline ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow's global market.
