Thailand face Australia for Asian volleyball semi-final spot
Unbeaten Thailand meet Australia in Fukuoka at 1.30pm Thai time on September 10, with an Asian volleyball semi-final place at stake, live on Monomax.
Thailand’s men’s volleyball team will face Australia in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship on Thursday (September 10) at 1.30pm Thai time in Fukuoka, Japan.
The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Men’s Volleyball Continental Championship runs from September 4-13, with qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and the 2027 Men’s Volleyball World Cup at stake.
Thailand enter the knockout stage unbeaten after winning all three preliminary-round matches, collecting seven points to finish third in the overall standings. Australia recorded two victories and one defeat, finishing sixth with six points.
Olympic and World Cup places at stake
The tournament champions will secure a direct place at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games in the United States.
The three highest-placed eligible teams will also qualify for the 2027 Men’s Volleyball World Cup, organised by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
