Heavy gunfire at Chong An Ma: Cambodian forces exchange fire with Thai troops
Thai and Cambodian forces clash at Chong An Ma, Ubon Ratchathani, with gunfire and grenade attacks exchanged, ongoing situation under investigation.
On September 27 at 12:03 hrs, at Chong An Ma area in Ban Nam Yuen district, Ubon Ratchathani, Cambodian forces opened fire on Thai soldiers using hand-held machine guns. Thai forces responded with similar fire.
Following this, Cambodian troops also launched grenade attacks into Thai positions. Thai soldiers are currently returning fire. Further details remain under investigation.
