Fifth Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge tolls would range from 50 to 500 baht, with cross-border buses and approved official vehicles exempt

Thailand’s Cabinet has approved in principle a draft ministerial regulation setting vehicle tolls of between 50 and 500 baht for the Fifth Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge linking Bueng Kan with Bolikhamxay in Laos.

Deputy government spokesperson Ploytalay Laksameesaengjan said the Transport Ministry’s draft would be sent to the Office of the Council of State for legal review before further action is taken.

The bridge opened to the public on December 27, 2025, initially without tolls while the relevant legal procedures were being finalised.
