More than 500 protesters join Save Phuket rally against Chabad event
Thai Buddhist and Muslim networks marched through Patong in steady rain while police and administrative officials were deployed to maintain order and manage traffic.

The Save Phuket group, also known as the Phuket Land Protection Group, gathered with allied networks of Thai Buddhists and Muslims at Dolphin Roundabout on Patong Beach in Kathu district, Phuket, at 4pm on Friday (September 11, 2026).
They demonstrated their opposition to activities organised by the local Jewish community, carrying placards reading “SAVE PHUKET NO ISRAEL” before marching to the front of Chabad House on Rat-U-Thit 200 Pi Road.
Akkhrawut Kraisisombat arrived from Bangkok to join the gathering at about 5pm.
Speaking from a rally truck, he urged participants to demonstrate their strength and stand firm amid cheers from the crowd, which numbered more than 500.
Rain continued to fall, but the participants remained at the site and continued with the gathering as scheduled.
The atmosphere remained lively, while the situation was closely monitored because the gathering was taking place in a major tourist area of Phuket.
Personnel from Patong Police Station and the local administration were deployed to maintain public order, provide assistance and manage traffic in the surrounding area, with the aim of preventing disturbances and reducing disruption to residents and tourists.
