BKS runs three bus routes serving key transport hubs and tourist sites
Transport Co now operates three feeder bus routes connecting an airport, a pier and tourist destinations, with two more routes planned.
- The Transport Co. Ltd. (BKS) is now operating three new bus routes designed to connect travelers with key transport hubs and tourist destinations.
- The routes are Bangkok–Khao Kho, Udon Thani–Udon Thani International Airport–Vientiane, and Bangkok–Takua Pa–Thap Lamu Pier.
- These services create seamless connections between road transport and other travel modes, specifically linking to an airport (Udon Thani) and a pier (Thap Lamu).
- The routes provide easier access to popular tourist sites, including Khao Kho, Vientiane (Laos), and the Similan and Surin Islands.
Atthawit Rakjamroon, managing director of The Transport Co. Ltd. (BKS), said the company now operates feeder bus services on three routes: Bangkok–Khao Kho, Udon Thani–Udon Thani International Airport–Vientiane and Bangkok–Takua Pa–Thap Lamu Pier.
The three routes provide public transport connections between an airport, a pier and major tourist sites.
They are intended to improve public transport services and allow the public and tourists to travel conveniently, quickly and safely, access all areas more easily and make seamless journeys.
Fares and schedules for the three new routes
1. Bangkok–Khao Kho
- Distance: 443 kilometres
- Fare: THB398
- Vehicle: 36-seat first-class air-conditioned coach
- Frequency: Two services daily, one in each direction
- Outbound service: Departs Bangkok (Mo Chit 2) at 9am
- Return service: Departs Khao Kho at 8.40pm
- Status: Now operating
- The service is an extension of the existing Bangkok–Lom Sak route, allowing buses to continue to Khao Kho district and helping promote tourist attractions in Phetchabun province.
2. Udon Thani–Udon Thani International Airport–Vientiane
- Distance: 87 kilometres
- Fare: THB80
- Vehicle: 40-seat second-class air-conditioned coach
- Frequency: Two services daily, one in each direction
- Outbound service: Departs Udon Thani Bus Terminal 1 at 9am, arrives at Udon Thani International Airport at 9.30am and reaches Vientiane at 12pm
- Return service: Departs Vientiane at 2pm, arrives at Udon Thani International Airport at 4.30pm and reaches Udon Thani Bus Terminal 1 at 5pm
- The service extends the existing Udon Thani–Vientiane route by adding a passenger pick-up and drop-off point at Udon Thani International Airport.
- It began operating on Wednesday (September 9, 2026).
3. Bangkok–Takua Pa–Thap Lamu Pier
- Distance: 797 kilometres
- Fare: THB1,075
- Vehicle: 24-seat first-class VIP air-conditioned coach
- Frequency: Two services daily, one in each direction
- Outbound service: Departs Bangkok (Mo Chit 2) at 6.35pm
- Return service: Departs Thap Lamu Pier at 5pm
The service extends the existing Bangkok–Takua Pa–Thap Lamu route to Thap Lamu Pier, connecting passengers with tourist destinations in Phang Nga province, including the Similan Islands and Surin Islands.
It began operating on Wednesday (September 9, 2026).
BKS also plans to introduce two more feeder routes in the future: Loei–Loei Airport–Luang Prabang and Bangkok–Phuket International Airport–Phuket.
Nevertheless, BKS aims to develop a comprehensive travel network that meets the full range of passenger needs, particularly by connecting road, water and air transport.
The network is intended to make it easier for people to plan their journeys and travel conveniently and continuously from origin to destination, encourage greater use of public transport, support tourism and local economies, and advance the sustainable development of the country’s transport system.
