TMD forecasts more rain in Thailand starting in Northeast and North

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecasts more rain in Thailand from Monday to Thursday (October 5–8, 2026), with the “new spell of rain” beginning in the Northeast and the North.
TMD’s outlook for the period indicates that rainfall will increase in Thailand, initially in the Northeast and the North.
Cooler weather is expected to follow in the Northeast.
Upper Thailand is forecast to see less rain over the next 24 hours, with isolated thunderstorms still expected, according to TMD’s outlook for Wednesday (September 30).
Heavy rain is expected in parts of the South, where residents are urged to beware of hazards from heavy and accumulated rainfall.
These conditions reflect a weakening southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand, while southerly and southeasterly winds are blowing over the lower Gulf.
Winds and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are moderate, with waves of 1–2 metres and more than 2 metres in thunderstorms.
Mariners in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are advised to avoid sailing through areas affected by thunderstorms.
