DDPM sends Cell Broadcast flood alerts to three Samut Prakan districts
Water draining from eastern Bangkok towards the sea is expected to keep flood levels steady or only slightly lower in three Samut Prakan districts for about 7–10 days.
- The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) used Cell Broadcast technology to send flood alerts in partnership with mobile network operators.
- The alerts were targeted at residents in three specific Samut Prakan districts: Bang Phli, Bang Bo, and Bang Sao Thong.
- The warning was issued due to water from eastern Bangkok being drained through the province, with flood levels expected to remain high for 7-10 days.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) issued a flood warning for Samut Prakan at 11.20am on Wednesday (September 30, 2026), as some water from eastern Bangkok is being drained to the sea through the province.
Flood levels in Bang Phli, Bang Bo and Bang Sao Thong districts are expected to remain steady or fall only slightly for about 7–10 days.
Residents were urged to beware of flooding and electric shocks and to move vulnerable people to safety.
Those needing assistance were advised to contact local administrative organisations and the subdistrict and village heads in their area.
DDPM worked with mobile network operators Advanced Info Service (AIS), True and National Telecom (NT) to send Cell Broadcast flood alerts to people in Bang Phli, Bang Bo and Bang Sao Thong districts in Samut Prakan.
