Flooding affects over 1 million households in 30 provinces and Bangkok

Floodwaters have affected 1,177,404 households and 3,352,395 people, with levels rising in much of central and eastern Thailand.

  • Flooding has affected over 1.17 million households and 3.3 million people across 30 provinces and the capital, Bangkok.
  • The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) attributes the flooding to a combination of recent heavy rainfall and water discharged from northern regions.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported on Thursday (October 1, 2026) that flooding persisted in 30 provinces: Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lopburi, Sing Buri, Chai Nat, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ang Thong, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Buriram, Chaiyaphum, Surin and Chumphon, as well as Bangkok.

DDPM director-general Nirat Pongsittithavorn attributed the flooding to recent heavy to very heavy rain in several areas, together with water discharged from the North joining water already in the Central region.

As a result, flooding persisted in 30 provinces: Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lopburi, Sing Buri, Chai Nat, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ang Thong, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Buriram, Chaiyaphum, Surin and Chumphon, as well as Bangkok.

The affected areas covered 191 districts, 1,228 subdistricts and 8,714 villages, with 1,177,404 households and 3,352,395 people affected, according to data from DDPM’s operations centre as of 6am on October 1.

Flooding in the North

Phitsanulok: Flooding in Bang Rakam district covered 2 subdistricts and 2 villages. A total of 3 households were affected. Water levels were falling.

Phetchabun: Flooding affected 6 districts: Mueang Phetchabun, Chon Daen, Bueng Sam Phan, Wichian Buri, Si Thep and Nong Phai. The affected areas covered 9 subdistricts and 19 villages. A total of 82 households were affected. Water levels were falling.

Kamphaeng Phet: Flooding affected 8 districts: Pang Sila Thong, Mueang Kamphaeng Phet, Khanu Woralaksaburi, Khlong Khlung, Khlong Lan, Bueng Samakkhi, Sai Thong Watthana and Kosamphi Nakhon. The affected areas covered 47 subdistricts and 331 villages. A total of 6,122 households were affected. Water levels were falling.

Nakhon Sawan: Flooding affected 11 districts: Phayuha Khiri, Mae Wong, Takhli, Phaisali, Lat Yao, Banphot Phisai, Kao Liao, Mueang Nakhon Sawan, Chum Saeng, Tha Tako and Tak Fa. The affected areas covered 65 subdistricts and 368 villages. A total of 9,546 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Flooding in the Central region

Uthai Thani: Flooding affected 8 districts: Nong Chang, Huai Khot, Sawang Arom, Nong Khayang, Ban Rai, Lan Sak, Mueang Uthai Thani and Thap Than. The affected areas covered 56 subdistricts and 413 villages. A total of 4,785 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Lopburi: Flooding affected 5 districts: Mueang Lop Buri, Tha Luang, Phatthana Nikhom, Khok Samrong and Ban Mi. The affected areas covered 23 subdistricts and 84 villages. A total of 1,657 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Chai Nat: Flooding affected 7 districts: Mueang Chai Nat, Manorom, Wat Sing, Sapphaya, Hankha, Nong Mamong and Sankhaburi. The affected areas covered 38 subdistricts and 168 villages. A total of 1,581 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Sing Buri: Flooding affected 3 districts: Mueang Sing Buri, In Buri and Phrom Buri. The affected areas covered 3 subdistricts and 11 villages. A total of 974 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Suphan Buri: Flooding affected 9 districts: Bang Pla Ma, Song Phi Nong, Don Chedi, Si Prachan, Mueang Suphan Buri, Sam Chuk, Doem Bang Nang Buat, U Thong and Dan Chang. The affected areas covered 92 subdistricts and 667 villages. A total of 18,987 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Kanchanaburi: Flooding affected 13 districts: Sai Yok, Lao Khwan, Huai Krachao, Nong Prue, Phanom Thuan, Dan Makham Tia, Tha Muang, Tha Maka, Bo Phloi, Si Sawat, Thong Pha Phum, Mueang Kanchanaburi and Sangkhla Buri. The affected areas covered 90 subdistricts and 884 villages. A total of 9,635 households were affected. There were 2 reported deaths. Water levels were rising.

Ang Thong: Flooding affected 3 districts: Pa Mok, Chaiyo and Wiset Chai Chan. The affected areas covered 8 subdistricts and 24 villages. A total of 298 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Saraburi: Flooding affected 13 districts: Nong Saeng, Muak Lek, Mueang Saraburi, Phra Phutthabat, Kaeng Khoi, Nong Khae, Wang Muang, Nong Don, Wihan Daeng, Ban Mo, Don Phut, Sao Hai and Chaloem Phra Kiat. The affected areas covered 87 subdistricts and 566 villages. A total of 5,393 households were affected. There was 1 reported death. Water levels were falling.

Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya: Flooding affected 13 districts, including Sena, Bang Ban, Phak Hai, Bang Sai, Bang Pa-in, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Bang Pahan, Bua Luang, Nakhon Luang, Wang Noi and Uthai. The affected areas covered 167 subdistricts and 1,081 villages. A total of 42,286 households were affected. There was 1 reported death. Water levels were rising.

Samut Prakan: Flooding affected 6 districts: Mueang Samut Prakan, Bang Sao Thong, Bang Phli, Bang Bo, Phra Pradaeng and Phra Samut Chedi. The affected areas covered 38 subdistricts and 382 villages. A total of 307,704 households were affected. There were 8 reported deaths. Water levels were rising.

Pathum Thani: Flooding affected 7 districts: Thanyaburi, Mueang Pathum Thani, Sam Khok, Khlong Luang, Lam Luk Ka, Nong Suea and Lat Lum Kaeo. The affected areas covered 29 subdistricts and 510 villages. A total of 182,290 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Nonthaburi: Flooding affected 3 districts: Mueang Nonthaburi, Bang Kruai and Pak Kret. The affected areas covered 3 subdistricts and 3 villages. Water levels were rising.

Nakhon Pathom: Flooding affected 7 districts: Mueang Nakhon Pathom, Phutthamonthon, Kamphaeng Saen, Nakhon Chai Si, Sam Phran, Bang Len and Don Tum. The affected areas covered 55 subdistricts and 302 villages. A total of 10,203 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Ratchaburi: Flooding affected 7 districts: Photharam, Bang Phae, Damnoen Saduak, Mueang Ratchaburi, Ban Pong, Wat Phleng and Chom Bueng. The affected areas covered 41 subdistricts and 198 villages. A total of 3,506 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Flooding in the East

Nakhon Nayok: Flooding affected 4 districts: Pak Phli, Mueang Nakhon Nayok, Ban Na and Ongkharak. The affected areas covered 41 subdistricts and 397 villages. A total of 28,028 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Prachin Buri: Flooding affected 7 districts: Kabin Buri, Si Maha Phot, Na Di, Mueang Prachin Buri, Prachantakham, Ban Sang and Si Mahosot. The affected areas covered 61 subdistricts and 625 villages. A total of 39,977 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Chachoengsao: Flooding affected 11 districts: Bang Nam Priao, Phanom Sarakham, Bang Khla, Tha Takiap, Sanam Chai Khet, Plaeng Yao, Mueang Chachoengsao, Ban Pho, Bang Pakong, Khlong Khuean and Ratchasan. The affected areas covered 68 subdistricts and 556 villages. A total of 26,169 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Sa Kaeo: Flooding affected 9 districts: Mueang Sa Kaeo, Watthana Nakhon, Aranyaprathet, Khok Sung, Khlong Hat, Wang Nam Yen, Khao Chakan, Ta Phraya and Wang Sombun. The affected areas covered 32 subdistricts and 210 villages. A total of 15,086 households were affected. There were 6 reported deaths. Water levels were rising.

Chon Buri: Flooding affected 10 districts: Mueang Chon Buri, Sattahip, Phanat Nikhom, Si Racha, Bang Lamung, Ban Bueng, Nong Yai, Ko Chan, Phan Thong and Bo Thong. The affected areas covered 78 subdistricts and 354 villages. A total of 118,723 households were affected. Water levels were rising.

Rayong: Flooding affected 2 districts: Mueang Rayong and Klaeng. The affected areas covered 8 subdistricts and 63 villages. A total of 1,660 households were affected. Water levels were stable.

Chanthaburi: Flooding affected 6 districts: Kaeng Hang Maeo, Khao Khitchakut, Na Yai Am, Makham, Tha Mai and Mueang Chanthaburi. The affected areas covered 21 subdistricts and 86 villages. A total of 9,326 households were affected. There were 2 reported deaths. Water levels were falling.

Trat: Flooding affected 3 districts: Bo Rai, Khao Saming and Mueang Trat. The affected areas covered 16 subdistricts and 78 villages. A total of 1,310 households were affected. Water levels were stable.

Flooding in the Northeast

Buriram: Flooding affected 4 districts: Nang Rong, Chaloem Phra Kiat, Prakhon Chai and Phlapphla Chai. The affected areas covered 30 subdistricts and 244 villages. A total of 2,855 households were affected. Water levels were falling.

Chaiyaphum: Flooding affected 2 districts: Bamnet Narong and Chatturat. The affected areas covered 9 subdistricts and 20 villages. A total of 18 households were affected. Water levels were falling.

Surin: Flooding affected 2 districts: Phanom Dong Rak and Prasat. The affected areas covered 10 subdistricts and 65 villages. A total of 200 households were affected. Water levels were falling.

Flooding in the South

Chumphon: Flooding in Tha Sae district covered 1 subdistrict and 3 villages. No residents were affected. Water levels were falling.

Bangkok

A total of 329,000 households were affected, with 4 deaths reported. Water levels were stable.
