China ends Thailand’s unbeaten run
Thailand reached the semi-finals without dropping a set. They defeated Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Chinese Taipei 3-0 in Pool C before beating Indonesia by the same scoreline in the quarter-finals.
Their winning run ended in a closely contested semi-final against China, with Thailand losing 2-3 (25-23, 21-25, 11-25, 28-26, 6-15). The result sent them into the bronze-medal match.
In the other semi-final, Japan defeated South Korea 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-16) to advance to the gold-medal match against China.
