Tokyo Disney Halloween opens amid plan to lift maximum admission price

Oriental Land Co. offered the media an advance look at Disney Halloween on Tuesday (September 15), ahead of the special event’s scheduled run from Wednesday (September 16) to October 31.
The preview took place at Tokyo Disneyland, one of the two amusement parks that comprise Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, near Tokyo.
Villains from Disney films strolled through the grounds in parades, drawing cheers from visitors dressed in costume.
Oriental Land attributed its decision to increase prices for various paid services at the resort to rising costs.
The operator also plans to raise the maximum admission ticket price next month.
Even after prices for those paid services went up, the resort’s parks were crowded with costumed visitors before the Halloween event officially began.
“I can’t complain because I love (Tokyo Disney Resort),” said a 36-year-old woman who frequently visits with her family of four. “I want to come again.”
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old woman from Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost prefecture, said rising prices were a burden as airfares were also becoming more expensive.
