How dare they touch them

Browsing the world news the other day, I came across an interesting report.

US Senator Rand Paul, son of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, was escorted out of the airport security area in Nashville, Tennessee by local authorities because he declined to be physically patted down after triggering an alarm. The report said the senator missed his original flight but booked on another one and was re-screened without incident.
Imagine if you were security personnel at Suvarnabhumi Airport and demanded to pat down a Thai senator. I’m sure you’d get more than just a whack on your head. You’d probably get dragged out of the airport and thrown in jail for causing inconvenience and insulting an honourable senator.
