Actor Jackie Chan will be on board on June 30 when Hong Kong Airlines introduces non-stop daily flights to Canada.

Hong Kong’s second-largest airline, flying to more than 30 destinations on both sides of the Pacific Ocean, is giving Canadians greater access to Asia with the new route.
“With nearly 400,000 Canadians travelling to Hong Kong each year, we’re thrilled to be able to offer direct access to the world-class city,” says chief marketing officer George Liu.
“Every day on every flight with every passenger, we will deliver welcoming service that evokes the spirit and excitement of Asia’s World City. This distinctly Hong Kong airline has the city embedded in its DNA.”
Jackie Chan takes a starring role as the airline’s ambassador to help cultivate a global audience starting with Vancouver. His accomplishments as a goodwill ambassador for Unicef and UNAids, as a celebrity “cabinet member” of the American Red Cross, and as founder of the Jackie Chan Civil Aviation Foundation in China serve the airline’s shared interest in charitable endeavours.
Craig Richmond, chief executive officer of the Vancouver Airport Authority, welcomes Hong Kong Airlines as a “partner”.
“This will help Vancouver Airport achieve its vision of connecting Asia to the Americas and will present a wide range of options to passengers and businesses, while spurring economic growth and trade,” he says.
Hong Kong Airlines will be the official international airline partner of the “Canada 150” celebrations in Vancouver on July 1 commemorating the country’s milestone anniversary. Chan will be there for the party.
“We feel that partnering with Jackie Chan offers a timely opportunity to establish an East-meets-West, cross-cultural connection for our customers, and it complements our truly Hong Kong brand since we’re developing Western gateway cities. It’s a natural fit,” says Liu.
