Some members of the National Reform Council floated the idea based on a transition government being set up, an NRC source said.
But Nipit said he saw no sense in needing to change the PM and ruled out the possibility of it happening. He said there could be a misunderstanding, as he believed that whoever leaked the information was referring to a possible change taking place after the election, and that if Udomdej were to be PM it should be based on support required as stipulated by the future charter.
Nipit added that he had earlier said charter writers must clarify the circumstances under which a non-elected prime minister can take control of the country. He disapproved of the proposal to appoint a non-elected PM during the transition period.
