VN province approves 5-star 'moon-shaped lute' hotel

THE PEOPLE'S Committee of Bac Lieu province, Vietnam, has approved the architectural design for a five-star hotel to be built to resemble a Vietnamese moon-shaped lute.

Construction of the 16-storey project with a height of 50 metres will be 140 billion dong (Bt222 million), according to Ngo Xuan Pha, chairman of Bao Toan Auto Joint-Stock Company, the project’s investor.
The hotel has a five-storey base in the shape of a boat with moon-shaped-lute storeys. The elevators are designed in the shape of lute strings.
An observatory and coffee bar are located on the hotel’s rooftop.
The project with the shape of a moon-shaped lute, the cultural symbol of the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Bac Lieu, is expected to begin construction this month.
