Crowds turn out to revere the largest Buddha statue found in Bokeo

Hundreds of people dressed in respectful white shirts and blouses on Wednesday took part in a procession to pay their respects to the largest Buddha image unearthed during ongoing excavations in Tonpheung district, Bokeo province.
A statue of Buddha at least two metres tall was excavated from a sandy area near the Mekong River In Laos on Thursday, making it the largest statue to be unearthed during the ongoing search for ancient artefacts in Tonpheung district, Bokeo district, which began in March.
Another cache of old Buddha images has been unearthed in northern Laos following the exciting discovery of a buried trove of statuettes in Bokeo province last month.
Laos opens Bokeo international airport road for Golden Triangle zone

Laos has constructed a 5-kilometre four-lane road to connect the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone to Bokeo International Airport, making access to the zone much easier. The road is now open to the public, according to the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone.
