Standard Chartered Bank announced on Friday (September 11) that it has successfully completed the first cross-bank letter of credit (LC) transaction between Vietnam and Thailand using blockchain technology. At its monthly meeting on Wednesday (December 11), the SEC Board passed a resolution to grant a securities depository centre regulatory sandbox license to the Thai Bond Market Association (ThaiBMA) to test the use of distributed ledger technology (DLT) in facilitating faster issuance of bonds and increase efficiency of the bond market, according to press statement from the SEC.
