Builk (Thailand)’s business development director Patai Padungtin said the company took part in Echelon 2012’s satellite events around the region – which was organised by e27.sg in Vietnam in April – and got the chance to be one of the finalists on stage at Echelon 2012 in Singapore.
“About 60 to 70 of the 250 applications received from start-up firms joined Echelon 2012’s satellite events. Only 50 firms were selected to exhibit their applications at Echelon 2012 in Singapore today and tomorrow, and only 10 firms were selected to be the finalist to pitch for investment from international venture capitals around the world by presenting their business plan. We are the only Thai company on the stage,” said Patai.
Builk.com is an online and social network platform that provides free software through software-as-a-service model for SMEs in the construction businesses.
“Builk.com provides free software services to companies in the construction industry, where most of them are small and medium-sized businesses, to give them tools to increase business efficiency without the cost of investment. They can use the software for free; we get income by providing the free service, and suppliers and other related businesses in the construction industry can advertise their products to potential customers. The company’s advertising customers are SCG, Shera, Tata Steel and Sripathum University, said Patai.
He said joining Echelon 2012 could help the company meet both partners and investors, and as most of them have technological expertise they can help the company scale up its business.
Now, it has 4,500 users. These are people performing various roles and holding different positions such as executives, engineers, purchasers, and admin.
“We will launch the international version of Builk.com in the near future,” said Patai.
