Microsoft invites Thais to donate to realise dreams of youth

Microsoft has launched www.GiveforYouth.org, a global MicroGiving website, that allows people to fund and follow the dreams of young people around the world, including Thailand.

Give for Youth is a unique online marketplace that allows donors to support specific youth projects of non-profit and social enterprises around the world. The people of Thailand are invited to join the project by making donations from as little as Bt300.
The website currently lists hundreds of micro-projects from all over the world. Specifically, these micro-projects support young people in their quest to obtain the tools and resources they need to find a job, continue their education and training, or start a business or social venture. A micro-project is limited to a budget of US$250 to $10,000 (Bt7,500 - Bt300,000).
Current projects from Thailand on the website include the training to operate the four-acre School Poverty Eradication Farm. Each team will manage half an acre of intensive agricultural production. They will acquire sufficient knowledge, skill, and experience to enable them to also start similar activities with their families at home. Some of the resultant profits will be reinvested, some used for charitable activities, some for savings for the future education of participating students, and the remainder for daily expenses. The success of the venture will be evidence of a sustainable basis for future funding or loans and discourage migration to cities. The projects are under supervision of the Population and Community Development Association (PDA), which has experience in the poverty eradication area for almost 30 years.
“The Give for Youth Micro Giving website is a great example of Microsoft’s commitment to improve the lives of our youth, in line with our ‘We Make 70 Million Lives Better’ mission. We encourage the people of Thailand to donate and help fulfill the dreams of our youth,” said Supahrat Juramongkol, Microsoft Citizenship Thailand, Microsoft (Thailand) Limited.
To get an overview of all projects, visit www.GiveforYouth.org, click on the “Find a project” then either select to fund Microproject or Project then select country. Donations can be made online by credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, or gift card. Give for Youth is an initiative by Microsoft in collaboration with The GlobalGiving Foundation.
