3 cloud solutions for businesses from True

Following collaboration with three business partners, True Corp has announced cloud solutions and services for the business market that are expected to generate revenue of Bt300 million-Bt500 million for the company by the end of this year.

Ratchanee Teepprasan, True director for Enterprise & Wholesale, yesterday said the company had collaborated with Cisco Systems, VMware (Thailand) and Symantec (Thailand) for the provision of three cloud solutions, all focusing on the business market.
The solutions – iMeeting, iCatalog and iDirectory – will enable small and medium-sized enterprises and other businesses to work on Wi-Fi and 3G networks.
True is also investing about Bt20 million to provide the cloud solutions to the market, she said. The iMeeting online solution allows businesses to hold meetings via mobile devices anywhere and at any time.
Meanwhile, iCatalog provides a catalogue application including marketing and sales solutions for business, enabling users to access up-to-date content anywhere, anytime.
The third offering, iDirectory, is a human-resources solution and company phone-book application on the cloud that allows users to communicate with their company and access the phone book via smart phone or tablet.
“We want to provide integrated telecommunication solutions for enterprise customers, which are driving the growing global trend of cloud computing in Thailand. The demand for cloud computing in business is growing continuously as a result of its ability to increase the capacity and efficiency of business operations.
“The cloud solutions offer a communications platform and provide integrated cloud-computing services covering both IaaS [infrastructure as a service] and SaaS [software as a service],” said Ratchanee.

BYOD
The cloud solutions will support BYOD (bring your own device) for business and help companies reduce the cost of information technology infrastructure and software applications, as well as enhance their efficiency, she added.
Songtham Phianpattanawit, True’s group executive director, Enterprise, Business Sector & International Services, said the company expected to generate revenue from the three cloud solutions amounting to between 3 and 5 per cent of its overall business-sector value of Bt10 billion this year.
The majority of True’s revenue from the segment is from business data, which accounts for around 30-40 per cent of the total. The company currently has about 100,000 corporate users, he said.
The cloud-computing market in Thailand this year is expected to be worth around Bt10 billion, with the private cloud accounting for 70 per cent and the public cloud the remainder, he added.
