Orisma Technology sets sights on regional expansion

Orisma Technology will expand its business into the Indonesian and Lao markets this quarter, in a move that it hopes will help the company achieve growth of up to 30 per cent this year.

Phaiboon Trikanjananun, chief executive officer of the online agency, said the company currently provided services in the form of marketing tools and platform, digital media and content, mobile games and applications, and infrastructure, as well as on-demand services to the domestic market.
It also offers a direct-mail service named Taximail to both the international and Thai markets.
Orisma Technology will join hands with local partners in Indonesia and Laos in entering those markets later this quarter, he said.
Taximail is an e-mail and marketing platform designed for businesses that want to capture clients and provide promotions to their customers via e-mail. The platform is capable of delivering to over 40 million e-mail accounts per hour. The platform is also structured so that the client company knows how many recipients open the e-mails.
Orisma Technology will also provide customer-behaviour analysis so that a client can offer a promotion targeted at a particular profile of end-customer, the CEO said.
It has already expanded the Taximail business via a partner in the Indonesian market, he added.
The company this year expects to deliver around 2.5 billion e-mails to customers, with the factors driving direct-mail growth being mobile-phone users spending much more time accessing the Internet and accessing information and social media via their smart devices.
E-mail marketing is now able to create a return on investment of around 20-30 per cent for businesses that want to promote their offerings via e-mail, while the opened-e-mail rate averages16 per cent, he said.
Moreover, the service fee for e-mail marketing also help businesses save on marketing costs, with online marketing accounting for around 5-10 per cent of their marketing budgets, he added.
The company’s e-mail service fees start at Bt0.04 to Bt0.25 per mail, depending on the volume of e-mails purchased under the service.
E-mail service delivery starts at 20,000 mails, and the company has a database of more than 14 million unique Thai active e-mail accounts.
Orisma Technology this year forecasts overall revenue of Bt75 million, some Bt50 million of which will be contributed by online advertising and online marketing, and Bt20 million by the Taximail service.
Revenue is expected to grow by around 25-30 per cent from last year’s level, the chief executive said. The company has around 500 customers, around 200 of which are corporate clients in sectors such as finance, banking, telecoms and property.
Phaiboon said the firm expected to deliver over 2 billion e-mails via Taximail this year, as well as providing e-mail marketing for e-commerce and an e-marketplace that provides notifications of the opened-e-mail rate for businesses.
Orisma Technology last year generated revenue of Bt50 million and delivered roughly 1 billion e-mails to the market.
