Vudhigorn Suriyachantananont, senior vice president of TMT, said passenger car sales surged by 24.3 per cent in October while the pickup market grew by 6.1 per cent. Meanwhile from January to October, the passenger car market grew by 20.4 per cent and pickups 6.6 per cent.
He said there were more new passenger car models introduced this year, which helped stimulate demand since the start of the year.
“The private sector is more confident in the economy and is spending and investing at a high rate,” he said.
More growth is expected in November, he says, due to strong demand, as well as new models and promotions to be offered at the upcoming Motor Expo at the end of the month.
