On your bikes
If you’re a keen cyclist and have some free time coming up at the end of this month, head up to the Northeast for the long-distance “Ride to Khong”, a three-day competition divided into three different stages – smooth, steep and challenging. Taking place from October 29 to November 1 along the Mekong River, it will see cyclists pedalling 248 kilometres through Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom and Mukdahan provinces. Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand to promote the Northeast as a sports destination, the event is aiming to attract biking enthusiasts from Australia, South Korea, Malaysia and Europe as well as from the Asean member states. The winner will be honoured with the Royal Trophy of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn.
