Morning fog, cool weather for North, NE and central regions
The upper part of Thailand will experience morning fog and a slight rise in temperaturse today (November 20) as the area of high pressure covering the north gradually weakens.
The cooler weather in the northeastern and central regions including Bangkok, however is forecast to continue.
Citizens are advised to take care of their health due to the cold weather, including being cautious of potential hazards from dry air and reduced visibility in areas affected by fog.
The northeastern monsoon is relatively strong, covering the Gulf of Thailand and the southern region, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas. The Gulf of Thailand will see waves up to 3 metres high, more in thunderstorms, while the Andaman Sea will have waves of around 1 metre.
Residents of the lower southern region are advised to be cautious of hazards from heavy rainfall and accumulated water, which could lead to sudden floods and flash floods, especially in areas near rivers and low-lying areas. Those living in coastal areas in the lower southern and eastern regions should beware of waves hitting the coast. Boat, and small boats in particular, should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in areas affected by thunderstorms.
