Qatar’s Hamad Airport wins top Skytrax award, Suvarnabhumi climbs 10 places

Qatar’s Hamad International Airport has reclaimed its title as the “Best Airport in the World”, while Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi has climbed 10 places to 58th of 100 “best” airports this year.

Hamad International held the title in 2022 but was knocked out by Singapore’s Changi the following year.

The top 10 airports listed by Skytrax this year are:

• Hamad International Airport, Doha, Qatar

• Changi Airport, Singapore

• Incheon Airport, Incheon, South Korea

• Haneda Airport, Tokyo, Japan

• Narita Airport, Tokyo, Japan

• Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, France

• Dubai Airport, UAE

• Munich Airport, Germany

• Zurich Airport, Switzerland

• Istanbul Airport, Turkey

 

Meanwhile, Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport climbed to 58th place from last year’s 68th position. It held the 77th post in 2022. According to Skytrax ratings, Suvarnabhumi held the 10th position in 2010 but has been slipping in rankings since.

Meanwhile, the other Skytrax awards given to airports include:

• World’s Best Airport Shopping: Hamad Airport, Doha

• World’s Cleanest Airport: Haneda Airport, Tokyo

• World’s Best Domestic Airport: Haneda Airport, Tokyo

• World’s Best Airport Staff: Narita Airport, Tokyo

• World’s Safest Airport: Fiumicino Airport, Rome

• World’s Most Family-Friendly Airport: Incheon Airport, Incheon, South Korea

The prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards have been handed out every year based on passengers’ satisfaction data.
