Thai golf legend Prayad Marksaeng proved age is just a number as he stormed to victory at the season-opening Sunward Thai Senior Championship / Sekiva Cup 2026. The 60-year-old veteran carded a final-round 2-under-par 70 on Thursday, February 19, 2026, finishing with a dominant total of 11-under-par 205.
The four-time Japan Senior Tour No. 1 maintained a vice-grip on the lead throughout the final day at Legacy Golf Club. Despite minor stumbles with bogeys on the 3rd and 12th holes, Prayad counter-punched with four birdies. The highlight of the day came on the par-3 17th, where he miraculously chipped in for birdie from a 20-yard bunker shot, effectively sealing his championship win and the 200,000 THB top prize.
"I’m thrilled with this win," Prayad said after the round. "My serves were solid, though my putting remains a challenge. It was a tiring battle, but my focus stayed sharp. I’m ready to take this momentum to Phuket on March 2nd."
