Stadium One lands deal to develop sports community project for CU
Stadium One has set aside Bt200 million to develop a sports-community project on a 1.6-hectare plot of land after winning a concession from Chulalongkorn University (CU) for such a development.
The project is located close to the Chulalongkorn 100 Years Park at Chula Soi 5 on Bantadthong Road, in central Bangkok’s Pathum Wan district.
The company’s executive director, Thanomkiat Summavuthichai, said on Monday that Stadium One had won the bidding by emphasising the neighbourhood’s past as a gathering ground for sports enthusiasts.
Being in the heart of the city also means the area is blessed with convenient transport options, making it the perfect, all-in-one sports centre, he said.
“We aim to make this space a true sports centre. That’s why we’ve invested more than Bt200 million to construct a new, iconic building that would embody this whole idea.
“Not only will it be Thailand’s first and Southeast Asia’s largest healthy-lifestyle hub, but also offer the most complete recreational experience, from clothing and sneakers to outdoor and indoor exercises. We’re confident Stadium One will attract as many as 10,000 health enthusiasts a day and become one of the top hot-spots for fitness-lovers,” he added.
