Thai-Lao power station agreement signed

agreements (PPAs) have been signed with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Electricite Du Laos (EDL).Electricity Generating Plc, or the EGCO Group, has reached a shareholders’ agreement to invest in the Nam Theun 1 hydropower project, while the project’s power purchase


 


EGCO’s director and acting president Chanin Chaonirattisai said that group has satisfactorily reached an agreement with the existing shareholders to jointly develop the Nam Theun 1 project, which is located on the Nam Kading River Laos’s Bolikhamxay province.
The shareholders’ agreement for  Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited (NT1PC) was signed on September 4, giving EGCO Group a 25 per cent stake while Phonesack Group and EDL-Generation Public Company retain 60 per cent and 15 per cent respectively.
On September 23, NT1PC entered into PPAs with EGAT and EDL to supply 514.3MW power to EGAT and additional 130MW to EDL for 27 years starting from the commercial operation date in 2022.
