Last week's drops came after fast rises of more than 150 points in only two months and stayed within one-third of the rises combined.
It's still technical corrections and could be a chance to gradually accumulate stocks for long-term investment.
This week, we should continue looking at 3Q17 earnings announcements. Excluding the energy, earnings growth is expected and speculation will follow in stocks with expected outstanding earnings results.
One among interesting industries is hospital group which usually see 3Q as high season and earn increase in increased income per patient in the Social Security System. We pick BDMS. The other group involves exports with positive sign from high export growth. We prefer HANA, CPF and GFPT.
Externally, attention will go to the ECB meeting for its decision on next year's economic stimulus and nomination of new Fed chairman. Meanwhile, risks could span from Korean Penninsula developments, violence in the Middle East and Catalonia's issue for declaration of independence from Spain.
This week, market corrections are expected to nearly finish and there could be a chance for the SET Index to rebound. Foreign investors and local institutional investors' drives for sales will likely lower.
At foreign investors' average cost of their capital flowing in after the SET Index exceeded 1,600 points to 1,,643, capital gains will be not much, while LTFs will be in season and there could be new capital pouring in the system.
Thus, the SET Index is expected to stay above 1,700 points.

The SET Index sharply dropped by 1.41 per cent on Oct 13 due mainly to profit takings following a 6 per cent rise.
The heavy sale came partly from proprietary trading's block trade.
We see the SET Index's decline to close to 1,670 points as the opportunity for gradual accumulation of stocks.
The SET Index is expected to move in a range of 1,650-1,700 points as stock purchase through block trade will likely be thinner. Foreign investors slowed down their investment. (Foreign investors turned to net long in SET50 Futures of more than 15,000 contracts, the most in the month.)
Local institutional investors will see higher accumulated buy of stocks through LTFs' purchase orders during the last two months of the year (Bt40 billion amount is expected.) before investors will return their purchase again which could drive up the SET Index to test 1,760 points early next year.
