Thailand's total advertising expenditure dropped 1.58 per cent year on year in April to about Bt8.54 billion, according to Nielsen media report.
Magazines showed the biggest drop of 27.43 per cent to Bt82 million for the month , followed by newspapers declining by 22.49 per cent to Bt348 million. Ad spending on the internet fell by 21.43 per cent year on year in April to Bt99 million. 
Meanwhile, ad spending on cinemas also declined by 15.63 per cent in April to Bt599 million, while cable and satellite TVs fell by 10.10 per cent to Bt187 million and radio by 9.84 per cent to Bt348 million. 
Ad spending on instore media also dropped 7.95 per cent to Bt81 million.
Only three mass media showed growth in ad spending in April - terrestrial TVs, outdoor and transit media.
Terrestrial TVs posted an increase of 3.17 per cent in year on year ad spending in April to Bt5.72 billion. 
Ad spending on outdoor and transit media showed increases of 2.14 per cent and 2.66 per cent respectively in April to Bt573 million and Bt501 million.
