True dumps plastic bags to reduce carbon footprint

It is also giving away five kinds of colourful flower seeds for planting. 
The effort to curb the use of plastic bags will start first at True flagship stores in 10 locations before being rolled out nationwide. 
The company expects to reduce use of 3 million plastic annually, preventing 600,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
Oliver Kittipong Veerataecha, chief brand and group communications officer at True​ Corp, said that the company was reaffirming its leadership as the digital lifestyle brand with social responsibility by announcing its plan to stop using plastic bags at 10 of its flagship stores, replacing them with recycled bags made from durable craft paper featuring unique flower designs that emphasise the bag's everyday usefulness and reusability. 
True used around 3 million plastic bags at its stores each year. The switch to eco-friendly paper bags will help to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 600,000 kilograms each year.
True is also giving away seeds of colourful flowers along with the paper bag. By planting the seeds, customers can help add more green space. 
True has chosen the colourful flowers because they are easy to care for and suitable forThailand's weather, the company said. 
The flowers are Wishbone, Dianthus (or Rainbow Pink), Celosia Plumosa, Marigold Honey Gold and Sunbright Kids.
Each seed packet comes with a QR Code to download the We Grow application where customers can find instructions on how to plant and take care of their flowers.
The 10 flagship stores where customers can receive True paper bags include Iconsiam, Siam Paragon, Siam Square soi 2 and soi 3 and six other True shops including Siam Paragon, the Emquartier, Mega Bangna, Central Bangna, Central Rama 9 and Central Rama 9, 4th floor. 
The paper bags will be used at all True shops nationwide by 2020.
