PM Anutin begins three-country mission for UNGA81 and trade promotion
The prime minister will visit Tokyo and New York before travelling to London to advance cooperation and opportunities for Thailand in trade, investment and the digital economy.

Ekkaphop Phianphiset, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, said Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his delegation departed at 8.40am on Sunday (September 20, 2026) from Military Air Terminal 2, Wing 6, aboard a special flight bound for Tokyo International Airport, also known as Haneda Airport, in Tokyo, Japan.
Anutin is scheduled to carry out engagements in Tokyo from September 20 to 21, 2026, before attending the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) in New York, United States, from September 21 to 24.
He will then visit London, United Kingdom, from September 25 to 26. The missions across the three countries are intended to advance international cooperation and expand opportunities for Thailand in trade, investment and the digital economy.
Anutin to chair Thai agencies’ meeting in Japan
The official Thai delegation accompanying Anutin on the three-country mission includes Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun, and Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaichanok Chidchob.
Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn, chairman of the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations, and Asadej Kongsiri, president of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, are also travelling with the delegation.
The prime minister and his delegation are due to arrive in Tokyo at 4.40pm local time, two hours ahead of Thailand. They will be welcomed by SUGIKI Takahiro, assistant director of the First Southeast Asia Division under the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who is serving as liaison officer to the prime minister.
During his Tokyo programme on September 21, Anutin will chair a meeting of Team Thailand in Japan, bringing together Thai government agencies to coordinate their work more efficiently.
Anutin heads to US for UNGA81
After completing his Tokyo engagements, Anutin and his delegation will depart from Tokyo International Airport, also known as Haneda Airport, for John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, United States, on the afternoon of September 21 to begin his UNGA81 programme.
His participation in the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York from September 21 to 24 is one of the trip’s key missions, aimed at advancing international cooperation and creating economic opportunities for Thailand on the international stage.
Trade, investment and digital economy drive
Alongside its international cooperation agenda, the trip is intended to expand Thailand’s opportunities in trade, investment and the digital economy. Representatives from foreign affairs, trade, digital and capital market bodies are accompanying Anutin.
The prime minister is then due to visit London, United Kingdom, from September 25 to 26 to promote international cooperation and expand Thailand’s opportunities in trade, investment and the digital economy before concluding his scheduled overseas mission.
