U.S. stocks closed mixed with after Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining 4.99 points to close at 10,014.72.
The S&P 500 ended up 0.41 points at 1,049.33, while the Nasdaq composite fell 5.94 points to close at 2,114.03.
Gold prices rose to a two-month high, above USD1,250 an ounce, while crude oil fell 3.72 per cent to USD71.92 a barrel.
