Asian stocks open down

Asian shares opened Monday lower on weak U.S. jobs data amid fears of another recession which could hurt Asian exports to the U.S.

Japan's Nikkei index dropped 1.3 per cent, while South Korean shares fell over 2 per cent.

Australian stocks lost 1.5 per cent, while New Zealand's shares fell 0.6 per cent in early trade on Monday.

Singaporean and Malaysians shares dropped 2.33 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively

The weak U.S. jobs data will add pressure on the U.S. Federal Reserve to provide more monetary stimulus to the economy and investors are now seen turning to President Barack Obama's speech on this Thursday on jobs.
