The network of labor advocates will rally to the Government House on September 13 to ask Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to help push forwards the draft legislation of social security office act.

Wilaiwan Saetia, vice president of the Thai Labour Solidarity Committee, said Wednesday that the committee gathered 14,264 signatures to propose this draft law, which they had 60 days to propose to the government's consideration before it would pass onto the parliament's consideration.

The previous government had approved it in principle and it had to continue or else the draft legislation would be expired at the end of September.

The draft legislation would give more benefits to the subscribers including the over 50 per cent compensation in case of getting sick, the government would be required to distribute at 5 per cent like the employers and the employees, and the harsher punishment for employers who didn't distribute to the fund.
