SET index opens down 3.04 pts, 0.31 pct

Thai composite stocks index (SET) opened Wednesday at 980.40, down 3.04 points, or 0.31 per cent in line with U.S., euro, Asian shares after Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said he will resign after parliament passes economic reforms as demanded by the EU.

Blue chip SET-50 index was at 692.30, down 3.46 points, or 0.50 per cent.

Top five active (value) stocks: PTTGC, PTT, SCB, IVL, JAS.
