House-Senate to hold two-day general debate

The House and Senate will hold two joint sessions for a general debate from Friday to Saturday, Parliament President Somsak Kiartsuranont said on Thursday.

“The general debate has been extended from one to two days as per the government’s request,” he said.
Somsak said the Friday’s session would cover two issues - flood control and the compliance of the World Court order for troops withdrawal from the vicinity of Preah Vihear Temple.
The Saturday’s session would focus of other two issues – the negotiating framework to set up  a fund for Asean infrastructure development and the backlog of draft legislations, he said.
The general debate will take place without voting as sanctioned by Article 179 of the Constitution.
