PM to heed royal advice on flood control

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Tuesday pledged to heed His Majesty's advice on sustainable flood control.

“Today’s Cabinet meeting will heed and implement the royal advice, acknowledging the King’s concerns about flood-hit people,” she said.

Yingluck said her government would try to complete the drainage of flood water as a New Year’s gift for the people.
Based on the latest checks, some 80 to 100 villages were still being submerged, she said.
She vowed to iron out differences over the implementation of flood control measures, saying the Flood Relief Operations Centre would  reason with local residents.
