Wall St ends down

Standard & Poor 500 and Dow Jones each lost about 1 per cent, while the Nasdaq composite 1.5 per cent as fears from EU debts crisis again hurt equity markets.

Losers beat gainers on the Dow industrials about 4 to 1. All 10 S&P 500 sectors were negative with materials and industrials shares depressed. Energy shares dropped almost 3 per cent.Financials and health care were closest to positive territory.
