Da Torpedo jailed 15 years on lese majeste charge

The Criminal Court on Thursday sentenced to 15 years in jail a prominent red shirt Daranee Chancherngsilapakul, widely known as Da Torpedo, on lese majeste charge. The verdict concerned defamatory speeches she made on a red shirts stages in 2007.
Daranee, 51, was sentenced to the jail term on three counts.
She told reporters after the verdict that she would not apply for royal pardon and she did not have faith in the justice system.
