Leader of burglary 'not caught'

Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung and Bangkok police chief Pol LtGeneral Winai Thongsong dismissed rumours that the muchwanted burglar Weerasak Chualee has been arrested.
The alleged leader of the highprofile heist in the home of the Transport Ministry’s permanent secretary Suphoth Sublom last month is believed to be planning to move out of Laos and is rumoured to be lavishly spending the money he stole, senior commander Pol Colonel Yanyong Vejosoth said.
Chalerm and Winai yesterday officially dismissed rumours cited in media reports that Weerasak has been captured.
