Wall St ends up on bank, materials shares

U.S. stocks closed up on gains from materials, financials, industrials and energy stocks with the Dow Jones index gaining 0.56 per cent at 12,462.47.
All 10 S&P 500 sectors moved positive with the S&P 500 rose 0.89 per cent, while Nadaq composite added 0.89 per cent.
