U.S. stocks closed up on gains from materials, financials, industrials and energy stocks with the Dow Jones index gaining 0.56 per cent at 12,462.47. 
	All 10 S&amp;P 500 sectors moved positive with the S&amp;P 500 rose 0.89 per cent, while Nadaq composite added 0.89 per cent.
