Hunt on for elephant killers

The Phetchaburi Provincial Court has issued arrest warrants for the assistant of the Kaeng Krajan National Park's chief and four villagers for hunting and killing an elephant for ivory and then burning the body.

Following the recent killing of the threeyearold elephant in Tambon Padeng, Kaeng Krajan district, Phetchburi police yesterday announced that arrest warrants had been issued for the park chief’s assistant Suriyon Phothibundit, 39, and four other men. Suriyon will face the additional charge of negligence to perform his duty.
