Following the National AntiCorruption Commission’s report that the suspended permanent secretary for Transport had enriched himself through graft, Winai said he had reason to disbelieve Suphoth’s claim of losing just Bt5 million and that police were gathering more evidence. He said the report on the burglary case would be completed by next week and that Suphoth would be summoned to hear charges.
Police have arrested several suspects and seized some Bt20 million in relation to the burglary case, while Winai and Pol General Panupong Singhara na Ayutthaya said they believed the robbers had got away with at least Bt100 million.
