Tawin met DSI investigators in his capacity as former secretary general of the National Security who served as secretary to the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation dealing with the political disturbances involving the red shirts in 2010.
He refused to talk to reporters about his statement.
In the face of red-shirt rallies, the CRES released a chart depicting the lom chao conspiracy, accusing a number of leaders of the reds and supporters of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra of malicious activities against the monarchy.
The DSI subsequently launched an investigation into the conspiracy, targetting several individuals as suspects.
The case made no headway for about a year. After Yingluck Shinwatra came to power, the DSI reshuffled the team of investigators. The new team put the case under review, focusing on how the conspiracy chart was assembled by security authorities.
