A van transporting foreign labourers crashed into the rear of a parked six-wheel truck this morning, killing eight people and injuring five others.

The accident happened at 7am on the Kanchanapisek Ring Road at kilometre marker 59 heading towards Bang Na.
The impact killed two Thais and eight Cambodians, police said.
Two Burmese women and three Cambodian women were injured in the crash and rushed to Piyamin Hospital.
Police said the van driver, Natthapong Phothong, fled the scene.
The van was hired to transport the workers form Pathum Thani to Sa Kaew.
Police believed the van driver dozed off and lost control before his vehicle crashed into the truck, which was parked on the roadside. Police have yet to locate and arrest the van driver.
