Thai-language gambling sites probed
The Department of Special Investigation (DSI)'s Bureau of Technology and Information Inspection Centre(name correct-hb) has discovered many Thai-language gambling websites based in foreign countries, DSI director-general Tharit Pengdit said.
He said the sites provided online gambling services, including poker. They included gclubonline.com, poipetclub326.com, playwin89.com, clk88.com, pentorbet.com, casinoclub88.com and gclub-royal.com.
Networks of gambling-site providers had opened accounts with banks in Thailand to receive money from gamblers. The DSI had discovered continuous financial transactions made via the accounts, involving huge amounts of money.
The DSI had ordered its officials to investigate the sites, Tharit said.
