BMA clears canals, ditches

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is rushing to dredge canals in preparation for the rainy season.

Up to 500 employees have been put to work dredging canals in the capital to facilitate drainage and prevent floods. Drainage ditches are also being cleaned.
BMA executives are working on a flood-prevention plan and expect the government to allocate an Bt848-million flood-prevention budget by next week.
