Malaysia moves to extradite Iranian bomb suspect to Thailand

Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia is moving to extradite an Iranian man suspected of involvement in a series of explosions in Bangkok last week, the home minister said Thursday.

Hishammuddin Hussein said that at his urging Thai authorities had requested the extradition of Masoud Sedaghat Zadeh, 31.

"I would like to have him extradited as soon as possible," he told reporters. "However, since he is not a Thai national, we have to go through a process."
Malaysian immigration agents detained Masoud on February 15 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport as he was about to leave for Iran.//DPA
